Los pilares de “La Matera”, el origen de “La tropa”

Sigifredo Alberto Matos Villarreal

Nació en el año 1921, y dejó este mundo en 2004, tras una vida marcada por el trabajo, la fortaleza y el legado que dejó en su descendencia. Fue un hombre de carácter firme y corazón generoso, profundamente comprometido con su familia.

Estuvo casado con Zaida Rosa Mareño Mendoza, con quien construyó una familia numerosa y sólida, formada por al menos nueve hijos que hoy representan las raíces de nuestra gran familia conocida cariñosamente como “La Matera” o también “La tropa”.

Zaida Rosa Mareño Mendoza

Nació el 14 de junio de 1924 en Plato, Magdalena, Colombia, hija de Eusebio del Carmen Mareño Zabala y Lucila Mendoza. Su vida fue breve pero intensa: falleció el 4 de mayo de 1967 en Barranquilla, Atlántico, a los 42 años de edad.

A pesar del poco tiempo que la vida le concedió, su huella permanece indeleble en la memoria de sus hijos y nietos. Fue una madre abnegada, alegre y amorosa, que sembró valores que aún florecen en el corazón de su familia.

🏡 Un legado que creció como un árbol fuerte

De la unión de Sigifredo y Zaida nació una estirpe que con los años se multiplicó y expandió, conservando siempre el espíritu familiar, la solidaridad y el amor que ellos sembraron. Cada reunión, cada anécdota, cada receta heredada o fotografía antigua es un eco de ese origen.

Ellos son, y seguirán siendo, el corazón de esta familia.
